"The Pajama Game" Danny Katkin George Getzel

Please help me remember my 10 years at Barryville and Wel Met?

I was in "The Pajama Game".
Danny Katkin was my counselor.
George Getzel was the unit leader.
In one of my bunks was Marc Luchansky.
Ned Rosenthal was a friend.
I kissed a girl whose name, I think, was Nan.
When I worked at Barryville in the office for Ralph Kreiss, I hung out with Rachel Wenger.
I went on a Western Trip, and for the life of me don't know when it was--mid 60's I think.
I walked to Woodstock for two days of music.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Marc Jacobson -- Nickname Jake (to this day, in fact...)

I was in Narrowsburg in 1967-8.
At that point George Getzel was an administrator along with Al Maxman and Jay Meltzer.
Your experience must have been a number of years before that.

I remember Marc Luchansky. Kind of a tough guy and a good athlete.

Barryville

Jake - I'll be 56 in July and I'm estimating from 1962 through 1969 when I was on Western Trip #3. All years I went for 6 weeks and as I recall, I was in Unit 1 twice, Untit 2, Unit 3, Unit 5, Pioneers then the Western Trip. There were other Stews or Stus (how couldn't there be at a Jewish camp?). let me know if this matches you and we'll figure it out from there. Stew

what's your last name? I think we were there at the same time...I turn 57 in november. 6 weeks is right. you can see more about me on facebook, and my biography is at www.marcjacobson.com. My sister Mona was in barryville too, but she is 5 years older than me. I remember pioneers, now, as well as the western trip, but i don't know when it was or what number it was. maybe we should contact katkin. was he your counselor?

Barryville

It's Koenig, Jake, and I'm thinking you were a year ahead of me. Finally, I found someone older than I! Don't remember Danny.

I recommend that you go back in the archives and look at all the threads. You may see familiar names.
